Dazzled by the sun, it feels as though our eyes have barely begun to adjust to the brilliance of summer, as the light shifts to make way for the next season.
On the threshold of another transformation, nature reminds us yet again how change prevails as the only constant.
A great depth of rapid growth has bloomed all around and within us. The trees are full, gardens are bursting and the rolling hills mimic an elaborate patchwork woven by local farmers, gardeners and stewards of these lands.
Here we are, amid the final surge of summer. The days are changing, the light is shifting and the lines between life and death blur.
As we follow the light of summer to its edges, we find ourselves standing at a point of balance with darkness. The sun and moon rest in equilibrium, life and death dance in harmony as the bright summer bows to the fertility of fall. Another rich beginning born from a brilliant and beautiful ending.
Here, as life surrenders and is held tenderly by death, may we remember what matters and let go of the rest. May we honor our stories, where we’ve been and how we’ve grown as we look to the future anchored in hope. May we deepen our connection to ourselves, one another and this earth. May we rest in gratitude for all that lives within and around us in this precious and passing moment.
As we open to darkening days and the uncertainty of change, may we trust that we are right where we are meant to be, that we are made for these times and we have everything we need.
