After a breakfast at the Jet Room in Madison last summer, an airplane ride quickly rode up to the #1 spot for my next Dadventure.
We scheduled the flight ahead of time by calling in to Wisconsin Aviation. Once we had our flight time, we arrived at the Dane County Regional Airport and took an incredible forty-minute tour over Madison. The views were amazing!
There were no tears by my usually-hates-flying-commercial-flights toddler, and a week later he was still grabbing his toy airplanes and constantly remembering this one!
This adventure was great, and I highly recommend you give it a try yourself! Our pilot, Charlie, was great and friendly, the flight wasn’t too noisy or rough for a young child.
I would say to dress for the warmth in summer — we wore jeans and were hot. But the price was much more reasonable than I expected for a four-seat plane ride.
We were even able to check out Camp Randall!
Difficulty: Easy (if you like flying)
Cost: $99.95 for up to three passengers
