Can we take a second to celebrate something we’ve probably been too busy to notice?
Throughout the challenges, uncertainty, grief and frustrations of the past year and a half, we have become really good at managing change.
By “good,” I don’t mean that we wanted to become pros at pivoting or that we welcomed the upheaval of the pandemic. I just think we should pause for a moment and notice the staggering amount of change we’ve taken on and how proficient we’ve become at navigating it.
I think we’ve also become more adept at noticing the silver linings, the little miracles, the unexpected bright spots that exist amid the turmoil.
So, during this newest shift — as the seasons turn, as our school-age kids try returning to the classroom, as this virus morphs, as our patience frays — I hope we can recognize how strong we’ve become in our adaptability and that we move forward by embracing the constant flow of change and looking for the good in it.
