What’s your favorite childhood memory of summer?
Even if it’s fuzzy, or tinged more with nostalgia than accuracy, what was it? Something big and epic, like a trip or an event? Or was it simpler, smaller, even a daily occurrence?
My earliest summer memories are a blur of swimming, playing with neighborhood friends and going up north to visit family, watching out the window as the pines got taller and skinnier the farther we drove.
When I think about the memories our kids are storing up, I hope it’s a mix of things, too. I hope they won’t forget our adventures but I also hope they remember our daily routines, even in an unusual year like this one.
And the great thing is, summer isn’t over yet! There’s still time to do something fun, whether it’s another stop at your favorite ice cream shop or a visit to the place you’ve been dreaming about but haven’t gotten to yet.
Make the time. Make it happen. Make those memories.
