I own it! Period.
To some people, that may be a bit intimidating to say. Maybe even a little arrogant. But for me, it’s empowering, and it represents freedom and authenticity at it finest.
“It” represents whatever it is that you are going after, trying to achieve or attain. “It” is your goals and your dreams. “It” is your health, your wealth, your success and, yes, even your failures. “It” represents EVERYTHING!
To say “I own it” means that you are taking responsibility and ownership of “it.” It means that you get the credit when it works out in your favor AND you can learn valuable lessons when the results are not so favorable. In fact, to say “I own it” means that there are no REAL failures, only lessons to be learned from those experiences.
When you say, “I own it,” you are saying, “I’m taking responsibility of my life!”
You are standing in your own power, the power given to you by God (Infinite Intelligence, Source, Light, Higher Power — whatever you chose to call it). You are recognizing the control you have over your life. You are saying that you can live the life and have the “things” that you want. You are removing all self-imposed limitations on your life.
But you can’t get to the place of ownership until you’ve put in the challenging work of examining your life. You must spend time alone evaluating who you are and who you want to be. You must find the core of your very being. Then, and only then can you confidently and authentically declare, “I OWN IT!”
It’s time to move from the sidelines of your life and play the role you were casted to play in the story of your life. It is time to step up to the role of writer, director, producer, editor and lead actor. It’s time to invest in yourself by putting yourself first. So, step up and OWN IT!
Always remember, someone is waiting for you to become who you were created to be, so they can become who they were created to be. That’s how the human experience works. But above this, life is meant to be lived! It is better to own everything in your life then to have the sum of your life dictated to you OR live with regrets because you choose not to OWN IT!
