What do daffodils and Jurassic Park have in common?
They both remind us, in their own special way, that “Life … uh, finds a way.”
Every year, in the final days of winter, daffodils bloom boldly in the middle of our lawn. A symbol of resilience and a promise that spring is on its way, the bright yellow flowers burst through the softening earth to sing of what’s to come in spite of the inevitable snow, hail and freezing rain. Soon the soil will be drenched as the world melts and awakens. New life will spring and bloom all around us and we will remember what it is to feel alive.
We will remember the sweet smell of mud, the fresh smell of rain, and the joyful sounds of singing birds and buzzing bees.
If we let it, spring will reawaken and reinvigorate our passions, longings and desires. If we allow it, spring will sink into our bones, soften our hearts and unleash our wildest dreams and visions that have been resting at the surface of our souls all winter.
A time of new beginnings and new life, spring invites us to shed the final layers that no longer serve us and sow seeds within and around us that align with the world we are longing to create.
As we move through the final days of winter, the familiar invitation and challenge is to return to our own natural rhythm, trust in our own unfolding and allow new life to bloom with joy and ease.
The pathway to spring is forged by the final days of winter. Take what serves you, and shed the rest. We have everything we need to reimagine, create and design a world where all can thrive and flourish.
Yes, it may snow tomorrow, followed by hail and freezing rain the next. Rest assured, spring is coming and life, as it always does, will find a way.
