The height of spring is always such a beautiful reminder of the good around us.
I’m talking about the simplest, smallest things that have the power to boost our day. A warm breeze coming through the windows. Flowers in full, luscious bloom. The pure joy of riding a bike.
But perhaps what I love most about these things is that they invite us to feel them. No, they insist that we do. They grab our full attention and infuse all our senses. They prompt us to be present, in the most wonderful ways.
Because you’re not going to feel casual about stepping barefoot for the first time in a lawn that’s suddenly green and lush. You won’t be meh about the smell of your neighbor’s charcoal grill wafting over to your yard.
Or at least you don’t have to be.
This month, I hope we allow ourselves to feel, to soak up, to wholeheartedly enjoy these little miracles. Notice them. Revel in them. Teach your kids how to spot them, and share them with each other.
