Years ago, when I lived on the West Coast, something strange kept happening.
No matter who I spoke to, or where the conversation occurred, very few people seemed to know anything about Wisconsin — and what some had heard was often way off base.
At first, I tried to educate and evangelize about my home state. But then I decided maybe Wisconsin should be left a secret, a place that not everyone knows, but for those who do, it’s wonderful. A place that doesn’t need to shout its greatness, but reveals it to those who find it.
I’m reminded of this lately, that we don’t have to be the loudest or the biggest or the most popular to be doing something right. And that we don’t need to convince anyone of our worth or coerce them to do things our way.
Rather, when we’re living in alignment with who we are, what we want and what we value, we’re winning. And when we support others on their true paths, we’re sharing in the goodness.
So here’s to quiet moments, being solid in our truth, making small right choices and celebrating the tiniest wins. Here’s to finding the most fulfillment and contentment within and with what we already have, right here at home, right here in Wisconsin.
